Walk the Walk

Can mobility mean getting on your bike? Or, heaven forbid, walking? At Connector we think so but you might have trouble finding a vendor that encourages the use of two feet rather than a car.

Mobility means a lot of things to a lot of different people and that's fine. For a ride-share business it means a swanky new app that brings you a ride quicker than before and for your fleet leasing company it means more cars. Each organisation will have its own view of what mobility means to them.

For the fleet manager though it's a matter of combining all the right vendors to create a solution that works for their specific organisation. That means a solution that transports their people from where they are to where they need to be at the lowest costs and in the least amount of time.

The difficulty for most mobility systems is that it's not possible to monetise walking and the motivation to simply suggest that an employee simply walk for 1000 meters is fairly low. Each vendor will be focused on their own solution rather than the bigger picture that the fleet manager is trying to see.

At Connector we work with business to design complete mobility systems that include the options you vendor might not be pleased about. We're not afraid to tell you to 'get on your bike' and we don't hesitate to suggest that you 'walk it off'.

Contact us today to discuss how we can help you build a ground-up system that fits your business.

FROM THE COMPANY CAR TO EMPLOYEE MOBILITY

Sample

Few trends have swept an industry the way the concept of “Mobility” has swept through the fleet management industry in the past decade. It has become the cure-all buzzword for fleet operators, human resource departments and travel managers worldwide, but it seems that there are as many definitions of "Mobility" as there are people to define it.

This paper considers the topic of mobility and what it means for businesses in general and the fleet management world in particular. We look at the developing trends in the field as well as the impact on people and places. Complete with practical recommendations and forecasts of coming changes, the documents considers how Mobility will affect you and your business and how you can turn it to your advantage.

Fleet Maturity Test

The fleet maturity survey allows you to objectively measure the maturity of your fleet in 6 categories:

  • Car Policy,

  • Risk Management,

  • Sourcing & Supplier Management,

  • Contracts & Agreements,

  • Mobility and Powertrains,

  • Data & Cost.

After replying to 30 multiple-choice questions, the tool calculates a ‘maturity score’ and positions your score against a ‘target maturity level’ based on your fleet size.

Try using the tool based on specific global regions for your fleet to allow you to measure the results of your efforts in each country or region.
